Oftentimes employee relocation is done haphazardly with little or no planning.  This usually ends up creating urgency for both the facilities and IT personnel to resolve – also adding costs to the process.  The typical scenario:  a department director decides to move an employee to a new location, so they contact EVS to move the furniture.  The next call is to the IT Help Desk.  When IT sends someone out to plug the employee’s computer and phone into the network, it is discovered there are no network or phone jacks along the wall.  Even worse, there are NO ELECTRICAL outlets either!  Now IT and Facilities Management are urgently running cables and bringing in vendors to “drop” an electrical outlet near the desk.  We have a better way…it is called the Office Move Automated Workflow.
